Medicine bottles come in a variety of sized and shapes with numerous ways of opening, sealing, and packaging. There are different types of knurling that add texture to the caps as well as diameters. We needed to find out if the current caps were usable and accessible to those with manual dexterity problems brought on by arthritis. By using background information gathered from previous medicine bottle testing and industry research I helped develop and design a series of bottle caps that represented better options for bottle cap design. These bottle caps were designed in Solidworks and printed on an Objet printer. They were then put through a full series of user tests.
